Exam preparation for Ghanaian tertiary students

PremioQuest builds exam preparation for students in Ghanaian tertiary institutions. We work with examiners to write question banks against published course outlines, and we use language models where they genuinely help — turning a student's own handouts into practice questions — while keeping expert authorship where it counts. This blog is where we write about assessment: what exams measure, what generative AI changed about that, and what the research actually says about how people learn. We cite our sources, and we name our own limits.

How to Study

How to learn with practice questions

Practice questions are not the check you run after studying; they are the studying. Students who answered from memory remembered about half as much again a week later as re-readers - and predicted the opposite. Read once, shut the notes, answer, read the explanation, come back a few days later.

How to Study Part 1

The revision that feels best is the revision that works worst

How a study session feels while you are in it is no measure of what will still be there next week — and the methods that feel best are the ones that reliably lose the most. Students who reread were the most confident and remembered the least. Read once, then make yourself recall it.
